Single & Married

SINGLE FRIENDS: It's far better to be single and wish that you were married than to be married and wish that you were single. Hold out for someone with good and godly character. Also, in the past, there was an incorrect assumption that marriage was the only path to a meaningful life. It's not. You can be single, blessed, and content.

AND ON THE FLIP SIDE: Marriage is an objectively good thing, a gift from God, and should wisely be pursued by MOST people. If the previous generation worshiped marriage, this generation devalues it. More than ever, I feel the need to affirm to young adults that getting married and having children are fundamentally worthwhile things.

Today, there are forces actively undermining this essential foundation of society: pitting the sexes against one another, spreading fear of marriage, and saying children are an oppressive burden. In reality, on the whole, marriage and children bring the most satisfaction, stability, and flourishing to individuals and society!

So… let's avoid the ditch on both sides of the road. Marriage is not God, but it is very good!
