Today marks 3 ½ years of my “run-streak” - at least one mile mile per day for 1278 days, rain or shine. Crazy, I know. But hear me out here! The benefit of run-streaking: it takes the guesswork out of, "Should I exercise today?" Instead, you say, "I run every day." It becomes automatic. Just like brushing your teeth in the morning - hopefully 😅 Wake up and your mind is already oriented towards your morning routine. And it affects your identity. Instead of thinking, “I hope to exercise today,” you think, “I’m the kind of person who exercises every day.”

THIS IS A CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP PRINCIPLE. Especially for the spiritual disciplines like Bible reading & prayer! I’ve also done those things (almost) every day for years. Yes, it takes some effort to get started. But after doing it every day for a while, it becomes automatic - a discipline. Then, the disciple doesn't ask, "Should I read God's Word today?" or "Should I worship with my church this week?" Instead, we say, “I’m the kind of person who seeks God and fellowships with his church.” And for the Christian, this isn’t legalism, it’s discipleship! The disciple of Jesus says, "I follow him daily, rain or shine!"

Luke 9:23, “Then Jesus said to them all, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
